Darren Star: Patron of Season 03

CANNESERIES is honoured to have showrunner, producer and screenwriter Darren Star as its patron.

Indeed, he is an iconic figure in the serial genre with the creation of Beverly Hills, 90210, Sex and the City and Younger to his credit. He is the perfect incarnation of the values dear to the festival.

Through his multi-generational work, both eminently popular and demanding, he has established himself as an emblem of pop culture and has constantly challenged gender codes, particularly around the representation of women on screen.

Patrick Dempsey receives the Excellence Award CANNESERIES

Succeeding Dominic West, Patrick Dempsey was awarded the Excellence Award CANNESERIES this year, celebrating 30 years of career in television and film. Known worldwide for his role of Dr. Derek Shepherd in Grey's Anatomy, he also starred in The Truth about the Harry Quebert Affair, which premiered in Season 01.

The trophy was handed over to him at the Palais des Festivals, by the Mayor of Cannes, alongside Reed MIDEM Chief Executive Paul Zilk, Fleur Pellerin and Benoît Louvet, CANNESERIES President and Managing Director.

CANNESERIES Season 03 will run from March 27th to April 1st, 2020.
